Since it was first introduced in 1978 by artist Gilbert Baker, the rainbow Pride flag has served as a rallying call and symbol of unity for the LGBTQ+ community around the world. In 2017, #MoreColorMorePride, a campaign launched by the city of Philadelphia’s Office of LGBT Affairs, unveiled a reimagined Pride flag with brown and black stripes to better include queer people of color.
