Release the Packs
Celebrate Lobo Week 2019 (March 24-30) with this Release the Packs t-shirt! It’s been 21 years since the first Mexican gray wolves were released in the US Southwest as part of a reintroduction of the nearly extinct species. Lobos face a serious threat from lack of genetic diversity. Wolf advocates are demanding a release of well-bonded pairs with pups, sometimes called family packs. These intact groups in captive facilities will bring critically needed genetic diversity into the wild population, as well as increase the population to more survivable numbers. You can read more about Mexican gray wolf recovery at www.mexicanwolves.org!
