Hungry Knife Artist Collective
Hungry Knife is an egalitarian, consensus based artists' collective. Our desert arts and crafts studio is operated using real profit and cost co-operative practices, providing economic and career independence for it's artists. Experienced professionals, we come from varied creative backgrounds and work in many mediums. Hungry Knife rejects corporate paradigms and maintains independence through solidarity. We sustain ourselves with simple living and do-it yourself practices such as volume purchasing, recycling and reusing, guerilla marketing, resource sharing and collaboration. We have no bosses, titles or salaries; no one here calls this their "job". We also do our best to avoid making "products" ...the works you see here are true labors of passion. By working as a consensus based collective, we are able to generate market presence on our terms and circumvent cost inflating middlemen. This enables us to make great art for almost any budget. Collectively, we offer you artist-direct prices and sustain our creative autonomy in an aggressively capitalistic industry.
